The Way of Transformation
The Way of Transformation is the second book of The Christ Mind Trilogy. It is also the fourth of the five core texts, following the foundations Jeshua established in The Jeshua Letters and The Way of the Servant. Each of these is equally important, for they are exactly how He meticulously set about to restore His teachings, and build His Pathway. The five core texts -and more that followed – taken as a whole form the Way of Mastery.
The Way of Transformation is designed to be immersed in only after having completed the first book in The Christ Mind Trilogy, The Way of the Heart. Why?
Jeshua is a master teacher, and as such, he begins to deepen our journey as our preparation for it is sufficiently completed. The Way of the Heart is, then, the foundation of all that comes later in the trilogy. It establishes His exquisite revelations of Reality, Truth, and the nature of Soul, as well as introducing the student to the experience of “Wonder Questions”, Inquiry processes, and meditation/prayer practices.
Having established this foundation in The Way of the Heart, in The Way of Transformation, He shifts the cosmic bus into a new and more powerful gear. Indeed, I often refer to it as the ‘roll up the sleeves and get sweaty’ classroom.
The lessons and exercises here require a greater sincerity and devotion of time, just as college requires more of us than high school. And you will definitely experience some real ‘zingers’ in what He shares. At these times, it may be helpful to remember that often what we encounter as disturbing, or uncomfortable, is often the doorway to transformation. In fact, if you think about it, how can genuine transformation occur without our status quo being disturbed?
This requirement for a more mature and practiced studentship becomes evident quickly in The Way of Transformation, even though Jeshua retains His amazing and effortless flow of discourse, as though having a casual conversation with you while lounging by the pool! But don’t let the easeful flow fool you! For here He begins to take us into a much deeper understanding of the nature of our journey, which is twofold.
~The first, to dissolve exclusive Identity as the Ego, associated as it is with the body and mind we all call ‘me’.
~The second, to flower the potentialities of the Soul, or what He calls ‘incarnating Christ Mind.’
This twofold nature is perhaps best stated in the following excerpt found in The Jeshua Letters:
“There is a journey TO the Kingdom
And then,
A journey within It.”.
This second aspect of the journeythis, the incarnation of increasing potentials of our own Soul, which He calls the ‘Christ’, as well as the ‘true Heart’, is a critical aspect of all genuine spirituality. In a sense, beyond the healing of illusion, it is the whole point of it!
In The Way of Transformation, you will notice that Jeshua prepares you for the twofold journey by increasing His suggestions that you pay attention to two key things: breath and feeling.
Each of these should not be thought of as somehow LESS than mind, indeed, He begins to show us that they are essential doorways to move FROM completion of the first stage into the second! And, frankly, to truly open to breath and feeling is very threatening to the Ego, especially what I have called the ‘spiritualized ego’: how we gather Ideas in the mind and use them as defenses.
Indeed, in A Course In Miracles, He points out that ‘salvation can be understood as an escape from concepts’. This implies the thinking mind or intellect – no matter how changed it becomes – is STILL a limited sphere of our potential, and far more awaits!
In The Way of Transformation, this escape from concepts, from the reliance on the thinking mind alone, occurs as a quantum leap is taken beyond it. It is a journey into the greater intelligence of the heart, and the wisdom of the larger “mind-body”.
As it is said in A Course In Miracles, “I am not a body, I am free”.
And this is true; all that you experience as your body is merely part of your mind! And it is this that The Way of Transformation unveils and engages, that it might be transformed by love. In Course terms, this larger aspect of mind is brought to Holy Spirit for correction.
The physical presence of the Holy Spirit is revealed in the pathway teachings as being the breath. Therefore, to breathe with feeling and body awareness is part of bringing Holy Spirit to the mind for correction. It is because of this that, if you have not already done so, that I strongly encourage you to take up work with both breath and feeling awareness.
The Way of Mastery Living Practice known as LovesBreath offers for you an excellent primer in exactly the breathing practice He used with me from the beginning (it is available on the website www.wayofmastery.com).
I share this not just from this personal experience, but from now thirty years of working with thousands in both groups and privately. Breath and feeling ARE doorways into Spirit that go infinitely beyond the limits of concepts and beliefs. But this step can also be frightening, precisely because the thinking mind is where we have attempted to ‘be in control’. We have all learned to fear, despise, and judge the body and its ‘lesser energies’. This is a fatal mistake, however, as it is a denial of the larger “mind”, preventing access to it for healing. As such, it is an illusion, and an act of separation itself!
In The Way of Transformation, then, Jeshua begins to reveal that our thinking and perceiving is actually the surface of deeply engrained ‘tap roots’, or unconscious ‘tethers’. Real healing and enlightenment strikes at dissolving these at a depth beyond what the conscious mind can reach.
For Jeshua, the Christ Path is NOT about any diminishing of life in the physical world. Its goal is the radical transfiguration of Humanity, called by Him the ‘coming of Heaven to earth,’ and we are part of that! He is adamant that we are not here to find escape, but to transform the world through the transfiguration of our very being as the incarnate Christ.
As He shares in the course,
“Heaven and Earth shall pass away means only
that they will cease to exist as separate states.”
~
Once I asked Him, ‘How have you come to be so masterful?’
He replied with one word:
‘Practice’.
Because I had already been struck with the depth of devotion and love He brings to every utterance, dedicated only to our own ‘Christing,’ that one word resounded deeply. Jeshua has given his Soul to the one task of humanity’s atonement and full enlightenment, yet has remained a devoted student of discovering how to teach AND how to transmit a ‘living frequency’ of Love that penetrates our greatest fears and deeply rooted desperate beliefs so unconsciously. Whenever I consider His devotion to US, I am both humbled and inspired to deepen my own studentship in surrender to Him as my ‘guru’ (the word means, ‘dispeller of darkness’.)
Again, dear reader, in The Way of Transformation, Jeshua brings and offers to you priceless wisdom so that YOU can awaken from ‘all trace of illusions’, into an increasingly enlightened intimacy with God, knowing that YOU are the one who can bring love to penetrate our world more deeply. That Heaven comes to earth through YOU!
Take your time, then, relish each step of the way, letting Him and His loving wisdom into your heart, mind and life more deeply than ever before!
Blessings,
